Community Groups

Community Groups are the core of Cru.  Thursday nights are a lot of fun, but they can be a bit overwhelming.  Community groups are where you can come and connect with others in smaller groups and enjoy authentic, biblical community.

There are Community Groups all over campus.  Click on your year to find one of several options that Maryland Cru has to offer you this year.  Or if you want to be a part of one, fill out the form on the Connect page so we can give you the details of a Community in your area.

In the Bible, the book of Acts records the beginnings of Christian community.  Like those first believers in Acts 2:42-47, we are devoting ourselves to four main things:
  1.  Biblical Teaching (Thursday night Cru, Community Groups, Retreats and Conferences)
  2.  Fellowship (depth in relationships, accountability, having fun)
  3.  Breaking of Bread (communion over food - yum!  sharing meals - or diner points!)
  4.  Prayer (seeking to be dependent on Jesus and not ourselves)

This kind of community is what we were made for.  We’re not content to just be a community within Cru.  We believe so much in the value of genuine community that we can’t help but to share it with others and invite them to experience the joy of a relationship with Jesus as well.  We encourage you to check out all the ways to connect within Cru found on this page.
